ABOUT OUR WRITERSCharley Lanyon is an American journalist based in Hong Kong. He reports on anything and everything from current events to nightlife, but has a special fondness for food, especially Chinese. His work has appeared in Fodor’s, the South China Morning Post, Vice, and the Washington Post. When not writing he eats geese and dances on boats. Maloy Luakian moved to Hong Kong after watching Chungking Express in 1999 and, aside from a few years in Italy, has lived there ever since. She has written travel articles for both print and online newspapers and magazines, focusing mostly on food, subculture, architecture, and alternative activities for travelers, such as ghost hunting in Manila or visiting abandoned parks and cities in China. Dorothy So studied in Los Angeles where she developed a passion for exploring different food cultures. Honing in on her interest in food, she moved back to her home city of Hong Kong in 2009 to work as a dining journalist. Her writing has appeared in many publications, including HK magazine, Time Out, and theSouth China Morning Post. Dorothy updated the Where to Eat chapter of this edition of Fodor’s Hong Kong. Kate Springer is an American journalist based in Hong Kong. As the features editor at weekly lifestyle publication HK Magazine, she focuses on travel, dining, and cultural reporting. Her freelance work has appeared in Fodor’s, Time, and Forbes Travel Guide. When she’s not ambling around Asia, you’ll find her teaching English, dabbling in photography, and devouring dumplings. Kate updated the Where to Stay, Shopping, Exploring, and Side Trip to Macau chapters of Fodor’s Hong Kong. |
